CS-Ep.72 – 1-Minute Video! VEGAN CHAI SPICED LATTE – Tired of spending a fortune on mildly flavoured overly sweetened drinks that leave you longing for more? Why not make your own?!
This VEGAN CHAI SPICED LATTE delivers beautifully bold flavours without the excess sugar and calories.
There are two key steps to creating this lovely beverage. We begin by creating a MASALA, which is a spice blend. This MASALA is normally used for making CHAI TEA.
The second step to this recipe is to add some CHAI MASALA to our favourite nut milk along with some agave nectar to sweeten things up. After that, we simply heat and serve.
We like this beverage spicy but if you think you’d like a milder version, just reduce the quantity of black peppercorns and ground ginger when you make your CHAI MASALA. Another option is to reduce the quantity of the spice mix you add to the almond milk and agave.
Here’s what you’ll need to make it:
1 T black peppercorns
2 T ground ginger
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of cardamom pods
½ teaspoon of whole cloves
½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg
CHAI SPICED LATTE
4 C of unsweetened almond milk
1 teaspoon of chai masala
2 teaspoons of agave nectar
Here’s how to make it:
1) Place all of the spices into a coffee or spice mill and zip until finely ground. Transfer the chai masala into an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place until use.
2) Pour nut milk into a medium-sized pot. Add spice and nectar and stir everything together. Bring to a boil and then pour into mugs. Garnish with a sprinkle of the chai masala spice mix and a cinnamon stick if you wish. ENJOY!
